Di Majo Norante
The Di Majo Norante winery has been making wine since 1800s from the grapes grown in the 85 has estate at the border between Molise and Apulia. We were asked to design the new headquarters which comprised the new offices, a new barrel cellar and the winery's reception area for visitors. We were also asked to design the landscape around the new building.
We chose to locate the building next to the existing hangars housing the fermentation tanks. The result is a small cluster among the vineyards, where all the processes of winemaking can be followed. Our new building is inspired by the white plaster and simple lines of the local masserias but with a contemporary interpretation.
The landscape we designed is clearly defined by architectural lines and is confined to the new courtyard and the perimeter of the building. The idea was not to compete with the agricultural lines of the vineyards.
